Blessingway

A blessingway is a rite of passage celebration for mothers who are expecting, inspired by Navajo tradition. It is performed late in pregnancy and gives the mother not only strength, but also a rich, deeply spiritual connection to the birthing process.

It is a women’s-only ritual.

A blessingway may be given in lieu of, or in addition to, a separate baby shower.

Invitations, venue, and activities will be planned via the Blessingway Hostess and may include (but are not limited to) blessings, yoga, & meditation with the attendees, poem reading/story reading, beading, and belly painting.  It is suggested to have a small intimate group of approximately 8 to 10 women (family and/or friends).  The “formal” portion of a blessingway lasts about 1.5 hours, with another 1+ hour of mingling, refreshments, & creative projects (optional).

Beautiful Birth Doula Services will facilitate your blessingway (coordinated with the blessingway’s hostess) for a fee of $150.
