Private Childbirth Education

There are some major benefits to taking a childbirth preparation class; bonding with other families who are embarking on parenthood for the first time, carving out time to learn techniques together with your birth partner, and learning from the questions of others when you know you have a lot to learn but aren't even sure where to begin or what to ask for!

There are various options for classes as well: hospital courses, classes through your clinic or provider, community classes, Lamaze, Bradley, Birthing From Within, Natural Birth, Holistic Birth, and more.  Some classes are a la carte and some come as a series along with breastfeeding, newborn care, etc.

Some are "free" (or paid by your insurance company) and some may fee very pricey.  Some are 12 weeks long and some are "bootcamp style".  Depending on your learning style and your hopes for your birth, you may want to do a needs assessment with your doula to help you decide what style of class will best prepare you for the kind of birth you are intending.

If you desire childbirth education and formal classes are not available due to your schedule or do not appeal to your needs, you may want to consider private instruction in your home, individualized to your knowledge level and experience.
