Your journey begins with this DONA-approved Birth Doula Training.
I just wanted to share some awesome news with you.
I attended my first birth!!
It was amazing. I've never been a part of something so beautiful. All my fears were gone the second I walked into the room and started helping the mom. She said after that she couldn't have done it with out me there. I'm so happy to be a part of these women's lives and I'm so proud to be a member of the birth community. Thank you for teaching me."

If you are considering going on to Certify as a Birth Doula through DONA International, you will want to
observe a Childbirth Education/Preparation Course as a "Doula student" not as an expectant parent. You may attend after your birth doula training workshop but you'll be even more prepared if you take a class first!

After giving birth women often feel physically depleted.
Consuming the placenta can be one powerful way of replenishing themselves. The benefits of placental consumption stem from the powerful hormones found in the placenta and can help increase energy and milk production, promote rapid healing, and help to combat the Baby Blues. Evidence shared is anecdotal and realistic, without false claims. Various traditions, rituals, and practices are discussed. Participants will have a hands-on opportunity to prepare two placentas, one in a fresh preparation and one in a dehydrated/encapsulated preparation. Tools will be shared for participants to practice placenta preparation methods safely and knowledgeably. Upon completion students will be prepared to prepare placentas for women seeking this support.
Participants for this workshop have included birth & postpartum doulas, midwives & midwifery students, birth assistants, body workers, hospital workers, RNs, childbirth educators, and curious lifelong learners.
